Subscription stores are convenient until you pause trading for a month and realize you lost access to tools you already learned. AlgoScriptX was built around a different model: pay once in EUR, activate with your account, download updates from your buyer dashboard.
You are not renting the algorithm. You own a license for the activations you bought — usually one live account unless the listing allows more. Sellers still protect code with online verification; that is anti-piracy, not rental.
What happens when a seller updates
New version lands in your account. Download, replace in cTrader Automate or MT5 Experts folder, restart terminal. Major logic changes should appear in the changelog on the product page.
When subscription still makes sense
Data feeds, news terminals, cloud optimizers — ongoing cost is real. For compiled cBots and indicators, many traders prefer capex over another €30–€80/month line item.
